VOLUNTEER

Would you like a working holiday?

Whatever your skills or amount of time you have available to offer, the dogs will benefit greatly from your offer of volunteering. Volunteering will also give you valuable work experience and will improve your chances of employment within the animal care sector.

GifsAccommodation - We have a small bedroom in our house where volunteers stay, it has twin beds and you share the house with us. We have a washing machine, microwave, gas cooker, freezer and internet.

GifsHow much do we charge? - We do not charge for the bed but if you can manage adonation towards the cost of gas/electricity/water it will be gratefully received. We do ask that you buy your own food and cook your own meals.

GifsArrivals - There are two airports to choose from, Malaga is the prefered onebut you may be able to get flights to Sevilla, the travel distance is about the same, one hour & 15 minutes to Pedrera. There is a train direct to Pedrera from both Malaga and Sevilla. We do pick ups from Pedrera station.

Volunteer jobs - There are a variety of jobs that have to be done on a daily basis e.g. cleaning the dogs, feeding the dogs and in the summer months giving the dogs a bath and grooming and of course walking the dogs or using the exercise yard to train the dogs.

If you are local and you have a few hours to spare, we are always looking for more volunteers to help with a wide variety of tasks such as:

Dog walking

  • Helping clean the kennels
  • Gardening
  • Mechanics
  • Building
  • Helping with fundraising events at the refuge.

If you feel that you can help the refuge with any of the above please get in touch with us, via the contact page

GifsWe also always need cleaning supplies & equipment so if you can drop by with any donations, we would be most grateful for the following items:

Bleach, cotton wool, mop heads, brushes, small broom heads, small feed bowls - METAL please, dog colars all sizes, plastic buckets, Zotal, rubber gloves, washing up liquid, dog shampoo - all kinds, Zipiran worm tablets, liquid antiseptic for cleaing wounds.

As you can see, there are plenty of items that are always in constant demand so any help you can give no matter how small will be gratefully received.
